Steinbach Famous Chieftain Nutcracker Series
Chief Sitting Bull Nutcracker (ES637), Chief Red Cloud Nutcracker (ES864) and Chief Black Hawk Nutcracker (ES889)

The Steinbach Famous Chieftain Nutcracker Series came to a close in 1997. Steinbach celebrated the fearless leaders of the Native American culture in this collection. The brave acts and contributions of these chiefs remain a strong part of our history and the shaping of what America has become today.

Chief Sitting Bull (ES637), the first in the Steinbach Famous Chieftain Nutcracker Series, was the leader of the Sioux tribe and is dressed in his ceremonial feather costume with headdress and tribal weaponry.

Chief Red Cloud (ES864) was second in the Steinbach Famous Chieftain Nutcracker Series. He was the chief of the Oglala Sioux who worked diligently for peace between Native Americans and the U.S. government and became one of the most influential Native American leaders of his time.

The last in the Steinbach Famous Chieftain Nutcracker Series was Chief Black Hawk (ES889) who was the chief of the Sauk Native Americans. He was a patriot and proud warrior and has been compared to great leaders such as Napoleon and Wellington.
